International Show . New Series . And Other Art News

A.R.T. – Art Revolution Taipei 2014
As I type this, 19 of my paintings are currently en route to Taiwan.  This year I introduced a new series I call “Seafarers & Legends” which features a variety of landscapes and portraits of ocean oddities.  I am currently in the process of making signed limited editions.  These will be like the other ones I offer on the 8×10 sheets, only for this collection there will only be 10 in each edition.  I will update the blog and facebook once those start to release.  For those who prefer to collect unsigned larger open editions, that will be bit longer of a wait, but I will update once those become available 🙂

To my Taiwan collectors and anyone attending the show, here are the show details:

• Dates & Times:  12PM ~ 8PM, April 17~20, 2014

• Organizer:  Taiwan International Contemporary Artist Association
Get ticket info here.

The association has announced that 280 artists from 48 countries will be exhibiting a total of 2000 works of art at this event!  Where can you find me?  Here is the show floor map.  My booth will be located at H17.  (Click the map to see it in detail).  Last year all my pieces sold out before the show ended, so get there early for the best selection!  To those who purchase a piece, feel free to share wall photos on my facebook page if you want 🙂  Once again, I am sorry I won’t be able to make the trip this year.  The mom of 3 kids/artist career keeps me so busy that I’ve been averaging 5 hours of sleep a night lately.  Overseas travel will just have to wait. In the mean time I’ll hold down the pillow fort located a few feet from my studio and try to get some more shut eye.

Oh I almost forgot, if you are still reading…Bonus!  I have a few originals from this series that I will be posting soon.  I’ve opened an eBay store and am currently in the processing of stocking it.  Here is my new site for all things eBay :  www.mystudio.gallery  Originals will be posted there…and some will be auctioned.  eBayers can follow my shop, and be sure you are signed up for eBay’s “ebay bucks” cash back program.  Again, I’ll update the blog and facebook when I get ready to post originals.  Thanks for following!  -Cindy

April News: Acworth . Upcoming Shows . New Art

Acworth
I’m back from the Acworth Art Fest.  The weather was beautiful and the streets were crowded.  Acworth was my 3rd art fest, and so far all shows I have done have been blue skies.  Keeping my fingers crossed for my last show this spring….Dunwoody!  So on my drive up to Acworth, I got my camera ready as we passed through Atlanta….I knew my art was going to be on a billboard, and I was told it would be on I75 on the right side of the road.  Sure enough!  We passed by it right before sundown so there was still enough light for a non-blurry picture.  (don’t worry, I was not driving).

Here is my booth just before opening the first day.  We started to set things up at about 5:30AM, and were done in the 9:00 hour.  For the next show (Dunwoody), I’m adding a back wall to hang large scale paintings, so more art to pick from!

Upcoming Shows:
– Dunwoody Art Festival, Dunwoody GA:  May 12-13, 2012 (general info and directions)
– The Art Station – Solo Show, Stone Mountain, GA:  June 2 – Aug 18, 2012 (directions)

Venue: The Art Station is located in the restored Trolly Barn in historic Stone Mountain Village

New Art
I know, I know….I have not had any originals available online since last Christmas.  I’m so sorry about this, but my schedule and deadlines for the past several months have just not allowed for it.  So just a heads up, I will be pulling a few pieces early (before the Dunwoody show) and posting them online.  Not many, but there will be a few.  Late May will be when I get the chance to sit down and start itemizing what is available, get photos up, and start posting everything in the shop.  Subscribers here will get updates as soon as they go live.  Thank you all for your patience!

Art Revolution Taipei 2012

I’ve been offline for the past couple of weeks, but that doesn’t mean the painting has stopped.  In fact I am starting to get overwhelmed with how many finished, in progress, and blank canvases that are sitting all around me right now.  I’m not used to this, but soon things will start to move.  Allow me to explain one of the projects I have coming up!

I have been invited to participate in Art Revolution Taipei for 2012 (March 22-25).  So excited about it, and this is what has been taking up most of my time lately.  A new series is also in the works, and the first 10 will be heading over to Taiwan to make their debut.  This particular series includes a girl in each piece, and I love love love how they have been turning out.  Some of these will be made into limited edition signed prints so watch facebook for release dates.  Sneak peek close-up of one of them for my blog followers 🙂

In addition to the above mentioned series, I will also be sending 5 of my starry sky paintings (or as some like to call, the swirly skies).  These have already been completed, so be looking for feature pics to show up on facebook soon.

Here are a few pictures from A.R.T. 2011.  According to their website, last year featured 1200 artworks by 203 artists from 22 countries.  The number of visitors to the show reached upward 26,681 people according to the records at Taiwan World Trade Center where A.R.T. was held.

And finally, the pieces I am sending will also be featured at the sponsoring gallery who invited me at X-Power Gallery in Taipei.  (photo below courtesy of the gallery).  Once all these pieces are finished and shipped, I’ll tell you all about a solo show I have coming up next summer here in the states!  Have a great weekend… -Cindy

Art Revolution Taipei 2012 (A.R.T. 2012) features leading and emerging galleries and artists around the globe. Hundreds of artists, ranging from the established to the latest generation of emerging figures will be represented in the show’s multiple sections. In May, more than 26 thousand art lovers visited and enjoyed A.R.T. 2011.
The exhibition will include time-tested and cutting-edge paintings, sculptures, drawings, installation, photographs, and prints. Art Revolution Taipei 2012 is expected to be crowded with all types of people including art collectors, art dealers, artists, curators and other art enthusiasts. An even more important spot is that the organizer will invite hundreds of highly renowned and influential collectors to attend, which would certainly guarantee to bring great attention to the participating artists and their works.”

Student Art – A Thank-You Video :)

Students from Wellesbourne School, a primary school in Liverpool England, were given an art project where they were to interpret an artists work through paintings and digital media. A few of my art pieces were selected for the study, and the teacher sent me an e-mail to show me all of their artwork. I made this video as a response back to them to let them know I appreciated all their hard work.

YouTube Video: Cindy Paints “By My Side”

So this is my first painting video. I edited it to the ludicrous speed setting (ha ha) so instead of having to sit here for an hour, you only have to have 3.5 minutes of patience. I’m new to video editing, so hopefully these will only get better with time. A special thanks to my husband Bob for letting me use one of his recordings!!
